A new future ahead…

Over the last 10 years, the future of the Recreation Road Allotments have been in question as plans to develop over the top of the existing site had already received approval from the council. However, after several development prospects failed to materialise, the plots have been left in limbo. This uncertainty has previously made it difficult to justify major improvements or regeneration plans.

However, we have recently been given the very generous offer to buy the freehold to the we occupy. Once purchased, this land would be ring-fenced away from development for generations to come.

How can you help?

Although the offer for the purchase of the land has been made at a very favourable price, we have been operating as a very small and fiscally conservative concern for many years. This means that we will need your help to raise the funds necessary to purchase  the land as well as set up the organisation which will exist to run the allotments.

Our expenses are (approximated):

£500.00 land purchase
£3,500.00 conveyancing (buyer & seller fees)
£800.00 VAT
£1000.00 Legal & administrative fees
Total: £5,800

These funds are well outside of our current savings but we feel confident that with the support of kind people like you, we will be able to secure our future for generations to come.
