Hi Allotmenteers!

Thank you so much for your attendance on Sunday and all the feedback and questions. We have a big job ahead of us to get our land purchase funded and to set up to function as a fully independent private allotment. It has been really wonderful to see how supportive you all were about the changes ahead.

As promised, I am updating you all with some information and I promise to keep you up to date each step of the way.

Our GoFundMe has gone live:

We know not every one of you will be able to donate towards the purchase of the plots however, if you are able to do so, please donate as soon as you are capable of doing so. These kinds of efforts are much more successful if they can build up some momentum. If you aren’t able to donate, please can we ask you to share the link to our GoFundMe in all of your networks.

We now have a Facebook Page:

Please like our facebook page. We will be posting updates as well as links to the GoFundMe which will be able to be easily shared.

Our website is under development:

For those who need to bookmark it, our website is: www.recreationroadallotments.co.uk
I am still working to get all of the correct text and links up so it will continue to be under development for the next few days. We appreciate your patience and we will let you know as it becomes fully functional.

A clerical error on the handout:

My sincere apologies – I have made a clerical error on the handouts from Sunday’s meeting. The small plots are approximately 100-200m2 and the large plots are any single plot above approximately 249m2.* These numbers are approximate as the site is quite old and boundary lines have shifted a bit from their original markings. Where a plot is significantly closer to a large sized measurement – that is how it will be designated.

This won’t likely affect anyone, but just to make sure I am not confusing people! The overwhelming majority of the plots are large sized but if you are in question because your plot definitely seems much smaller than the others, please let me know and I can go out and measure it to let you know for sure. For everyone else, we will work over the coming weeks/months to put together a updated survey of all the plots. I have updated the handout and attached it to this e-mail.

*determination of large and small plots is at the discretion of the committee

Plotholder surveys:

In the next few days I will publish the results of the Plotholder Survey and share them with you (no personal details will be shared) so you can see what we are all thinking about as a group. If you have not had a chance to fill out a survey or know someone who was unable to attend, I am attaching a copy of the file to this e-mail. Please fill it out and either e-mail it back or drop it through my letterbox at 27 Barlby Road.

If you need anything at all or have any questions, please do let me (or one of the committee members) know. I work full time running my business but I will do my best to get back to you as soon as possible.

Happy Regards, Jaye Cole
